What were your expectations of college life before UC Merced?
I transferred from CSU Fresno so I already knew. I was scared of failing.
How did your experience here correspond to that expectation?
My fear of failure drove me to try hard and I did well.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I was recently accepted to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
How did your experience at UC Merced prepare you for your future endeavors?
UC Merced gave me the scientific foundation needed to succeed in the medical field.
What is your best UC Merced memory?
Being able to be a part of the first class of the UC built in my hometown. I watched the university be built from the ground up. At the time, I didn’t know I would get the opportunity to attend.
What is the one thing you think all freshmen should know to make the most of their academic career here?
Work extremely hard and learn to balance fun and work. Use your professors to your advantage and talk with them outside of class. If they know you, it greatly improves your experience.
