Tickets and Seating

Tickets are required for admittance into the venue. Graduates will receive tickets at Grad Fair. ADA concerns for guests will be addressed at the venue (ADA seating, sign language interpreting, etc.).

These tickets are the property of UC Merced. Any unauthorized sale, duplication or use would be subject to referral to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities and potential restriction from participation in Commencement activities.

Weather

The Fall ceremonies take place indoors; however, parking is outdoors. Please check weather reports in advance to determine appropriate attire.

Arrival Time

Please arrive early and allow at least 30 minutes for parking, walking to the venue and ticketing. Seating is first come, first served for ticketed guests. Guests must be seated prior to the start of the processional.

General and Accessible Parking

Please utilize public parking in the neighboring parking lots and street parking. Spaces are limited, carpooling is encouraged. Please arrive early to find appropriate parking as spaces are first come, first served.

Commencement Flowers

The Commencement Group has partnered with UC Merced to have flowers and leis available for purchase on campus during Commencement weekend.

Grad Gear

Prohibited Items

No backpacks or large bags will be permitted, small or clear bags are encouraged. Please see prohibited items listed below.

  • Air horns, beach balls, signs, umbrellas, or other distracting items that will obstruct the view of others

  • Balloons or inflatables of any kind

  • Alcohol

  • Any type of smoking or tobacco products

  • Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia

  • Weapons of any kind including firearms and knives

  • Drones (UAS - Unmanned Aircraft Systems) or other model aircraft

  • Animals except for registered guide dogs

  • Backpacks – diaper bags or bags carrying medical needs are approved

Any prohibited items found in the venue will be confiscated. Additionally, cell phones should be turned off or to silent mode during the ceremony. Please consider the safety of others and do not stand in or block the aisles or walkways of the venue.
